Murph Challenge (Hero WOD)
*Cue Climactic Music* It’s that time of year again - the Murph Hero WOD!
In memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005.
This workout was one of Mike's favorites and he'd named it "Body Armor". From here on it will be referred to as "Murph" in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is.
For time:
1 mile Run
100 Pull-ups
200 Push-ups
300 Squats
1 mile Run
Wear a Weight Vest (20/14 lb)
Partition the Pull-Ups, Push-Ups, and Air Squats as needed

Beer WOD (MR Anniversary Party)
Established in 2015, every year we like to celebrate MR’s birthday (and our community!) in true fashion with a Beer WOD and cookout at the gym! Bring your friends, bring your family, bring some food and drinks, and don’t forget to bring yourself! We’ll start with a few rounds of special programming (with or without chugging a beverage) and encourage everyone to join in!

Going Away WOD for Coaches Ariel & Kris
While not gone for good by any means, Coaches Ariel and Kris have commitments that will temporarily take them to our neighboring state of Missouri. We want to send them off with much fanfare, sweat, and well wishes - so why not make an event of it! Join us for a workout and hangout!

Park WOD
Spring has sprung in Chicago (finally), and we’re itching to get outdoors and soak up some vitamin D with our fitness! It’s still a little crisp out, so we’ll be in the park instead of the beach. Keep an eye out for more exciting opportunities to shake up your WODs as things continue to heat up over the next few months!
For now, join us for our first outdoor WOD of the year at Winnemac Park in the southwest corner by the playground - just bring yourself and don’t forget some water!

"The ’MURPH’ is more than just a workout, it is a tradition that helps push us, humble us, and dedicate a bit of pain and sweat to honor a man who gave everything he had." The athletes at MR participate each year, raising money for the LT. Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation and completing arguably the most challenging WOD of the year. We will celebrate just as hard as we work later in the day with food, drinks, friends and family!
